Hannah Stork
Throughout the years I have explored many healing modalities such as yoga, meditation, and ancestral work. The somatic aspect of this journey has been very important to me, so a big part of my practice has been dance and other types of somatic movement.
I trained as a vinyasa and yin yoga teacher, have been teaching yoga for many years and have given 1:1 guidance since 2018.
What is Somatic Guidance?
Somatic Guidance is a practice for anyone who wishes to have a deeper connection to their body and understand its messages.
The word ‘soma’ comes from ancient Greek and is usually translated as ‘the body’. It really means the ‘living wholeness of a person’ which includes the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the human being.
As we live our lives without being connected to our bodies, we lose more and more of our vibrancy. There are places in the body we no longer inhabit due to hardships and pain. The work I would like to offer is all about re-connection; to different aspects of ourselves, to our body, and the spiritual dimension within us.
What to expect
A single session is meant to bring guidance on topics that you wish to gain clarity around. For example, a pattern you would like to gain insight about, a habit you wish to change, or a life situation you are facing.
We’ll start by looking into what theme or topic wants to be explored. Oftentimes when we are faced with a problem or obstacle, there is an invitation that asks us to grow into something new and transform something within ourselves.
DURING A SESSION
During a session, we explore the different areas of the body and get to know the messages that the body holds. For example: what is the message of the sadness in your shoulders, or the guilt you feel in the upper back? Through this inquiry and tapping into the wisdom of the body, deep healing can occur. You will be able to gradually embody more of who you are in your essence.
I will invite you to become more aware of these mechanisms in your body by bringing softness and compassion to these parts. I’ve learned from my own experience that these parts of us long to be seen and held before they can start to soften.
As a somatic guide
I intend to offer all of the insights I have gathered on my journey. Tapping into ancient wisdom traditions, but most of all; I offer everything that I’ve found to be meaningful in my process.
I believe one of my strengths as a guide is that I am not afraid to dig deep and go into the darkness. At the same time, I’m able to bring humor and lightness into my work. I am passionate about creating plenty of safety and spaciousness during a session so that even the most dark or neglected parts can feel welcomed.
Somatic Guidance is for you if:
– You have psychosomatic symptoms that you wish to gain insight about
– You feel disconnected from yourself and your body and you are looking for tools to reconnect
– You feel tension or pain in the body but you don’t really know where this comes from or how to deal with it
– You experience something that is referred to as ‘Soul loss’; a feeling that a part of you is missing or not fully expressed
